At the time they were the two bands at the front of this kind of music. Both bands also appeared I believe on the excellent Wurlitzer Jukebox label!

The Ford has a tank of only 17.5 gallons, which means it's only got a range of 221 miles.
The F430 has a tank of 25.1, and therefore has a range of 294 miles.
I couldn't find any data on the Zonda, but I have found in several test blogs that it gets a combined MPG of around 17 - 19, which is higher than the Ford.. plus it's probably got a bigger tank.
I won't deny they didn't exaggerate it, though.

Also keep in mind that in Europe every manufacturer does its own fuel test (following a very basic protocol that has not been reviewed for more than 20 years), whereas in US all fuel consumptions tests are done by EPA, in order to preserve the consistency of the results.
BTW, I'm not dissing the Zonda, I love it, especially Zonda F, which I think is the best sounding sports car ever. But let's keep the facts straight, Ford GT is the most most fuel efficient of the three.

In the subtext of both Stereolab and Broadcast you hear the influences of early Krautrock (Neu!, Kraftwerk, Cluster), lounge (Martin Denny, Les Baxter, Esquivel!, Bacharach, Hazelwood, and Surge Gainsburg). At least, that's what interests me about both of these bands. I'm sure both these bands contributed to some of the popular resurgence of the bands I listed.

Sure, Stereolab and Broadcast are/were close friends and went to each others gigs, I remember I went to see Broadcast at Dingwalls in the late 90s (even have their dressing room sign at home - gosh!) and in front of me was Mary Hansen from Stereolab (RIP) so I think they had mutual respect and inspiration for each other. At the time they were the two bands at the front of this kind of music. Both bands also appeared I believe on the excellent Wurlitzer Jukebox label!

I wish I hadn't lost the 'Noise Made By People' CD. It appears that it was a limited pressing, because when I've gone on ebay, the CD is outrageously priced. I'd love to own it on vinyl, but I could just imagine how much a pressing of this album would be going for these days. This was truly one of my preferred CD's to listen to when I purchased this in 2000. It's scarce availability is the unfortunate outcome of it being released on an indie label.

Apparently they were at the CMJ Music Festival. Bradford Cox's band Atlas Sound was there, too. "It has always set up tensions between pop tunes, sung by Ms. Keenan with ingenuous clarity, and atmospheric, disruptive sounds," says the article about Broadcast.
